Junglecity Launches Portland Website Aimed At Japanese Locals and Travelers

SEATTLE, May 6, 2009 - The Japanese-speaking community already relies on Junglecity for news and information about Seattle and Washington state--and now with the launch of the site's Portland/Oregon version, users will be able to access detailed visitor's information about Portland and Oregon State in their native language.

Beginning May 5, 2009, visitors to Junglecity will find a new website at http://portland.junglecity.com. Junglecity created it through extensive research with the assistance of Travel Porland. Basic history and geography are included, as well as event and area guides for sightseeing, shopping and dining. Accommodations, spas, sporting events and jazz clubs will all be included, along with famous sites from popular movies and daily trip-planning assistance.

Junglecity founder Takumi Ono plans on adding more information to the site, with the idea of showing a wide variety of information about Oregon aiming at business and pleasure travelers as well as residents just like the Seattle/Washington version.

Junglecity currently sees over 22 million page views per month. Japanese tourists from other parts of US and countries including Japan and Canada rely on Junglecity mostly for restaurant/hotel/club/event/sightseeing guides in addition to communicating with Japanese residents through bulletin boards (divided into 18 categories and receive minimum 1,000 postings a week). Seattle's sizable Japanese-speaking community accesses Junglecity for daily news updates, events calendars, a parenting network, columns written by Japanese professionals and, of course, regular Mariners updates. It helps members of the community to get informed and connected--and stay that way.
